Nagi Souaiby, MD, MPH, MHM 
Editor-in-Chief
Dr. Nagi Souaiby is an Emergency, Forensic Medicine and Medical Law specialist who graduated from the Universities of Montpellier and Paris. He got the "Medical Council of Canada" license and received a double European Master's in "Public Health" and "Hospital and Health Management" from ESA Business School of Beirut and Paris VII. He is a lecturer in forensic medicine at the USJ Faculty of Medicine and a medical law instructor at the « Ecole Supérieure des Affaires » in Beirut. He is also an expert on the European Union and the World Health Organization. Dr. Souaiby is the founder and president of New Health Concept, which provides consultancy to health institutions and professionals to implement their projects and to defend themselves in the event of liability. He is also the founder of the National School for Emergency Care and the Editor-in-chief of the Mediterranean Journal of Emergency Care (MJEM), a peer-reviewed scientific journal that was launched as a new journal "Panorama of Emergency Medicine" (POEM). Dr. Souaiby was a reviewer for the Global Emergency Medicine Literature Review (GEMLR) for two years in 2013-14 and for many international publications. He is invited all over the world to share his experience and expertise in crisis and disaster management.

Hugues Lefort, MD, MSc, OF5
Deputy Editor – Military Medicine
Dr. Hugues Lefort is a military emergency physician in Marseille, France for the Laveran military teaching hospital, where he coordinates continuing medical formation. Also medical officer for the regional Fire Department, he is a medical expert accredited by the European Union Mechanism (Matthew hurricane 2016, Earthquake in Italy 2016), involved during responses to Paris attacks 2015-2016 (Paris Fire Brigade), and also managing risk and crisis in more conventional situations (medical crisis hospital director for Covid-19 pandemy, military operations, international crisis formation). He was a member of the French Society of Emergency Medicine for guidelines section during 6 years, and now for quality evaluation section. He has coordinated or co-written many recommendations and works about crisis, attacks, acute wounds, burn, ground zero cares and remote damage control, partnership and patient expertise. He is an author & co-author in several publications and is an associate professeur in several French universities. Dr. Hugues Lefort is deeply convinced of the importance of teamwork, in civilian and military conditions, in conventional as well as in exceptional situations, as demonstrated by the adjustments in civil security during attacks or disasters involving multiple victims. It seems to him to be fundamental to value field experiences, and clinical and paraclinical research in the field of pre-hospital and hospital emergency care. We must strongly support the visibility of experiences and original works in emergency medicine and on more transversal subjects: crisis management, safety, culture of quality, and safety, for the acute cure and care of patients.

Bruno Mégarbane, MD, PhD
Senior Associate Editor – Toxicology
Bruno Mégarbane is a professor of critical care medicine at Paris University and directs a research team at INSERM UMRS-1144. He is the Head of the Department of Medical and Toxicological Critical Care at Lariboisière Hospital, Paris, France. He conducted several clinical and experimental studies in clinical toxicology and more recently in the field of COVID. He has published or participated in about 500 scientific publications referenced in PubMed.
Guillaume Alinier, PhD
Senior Associate Editor – Simulation
Guillaume Alinier is Director of Research at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Ambulance Service and Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), where he developed and used to head up its large multi-professional clinical simulation center which was a hub for collaboration bringing together students, clinicians, researchers, and engineers from various countries and disciplines. At HMC he still plays an important role in facilitating collaborations between HMC and different universities in Qatar and internationally and is involved in several projects on diverse topics He also holds a visiting professorship at Northumbria University and is an Adjunct Professor of Education in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. He is widely published and cited and serves in various roles on numerous new and well-established international journal editorial boards in the domains of healthcare simulation education, emergency medicine, and pre-hospital care. He has served as Guest Editor for several special issues of the Qatar Medical Journal and the Journal of Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Acute Care regarding Critical Care and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, and the yearly Qatar Health conference. He published books on Debriefing with Professor Denis Oriot through Springer and Elsevier which have been translated into different languages.
Professor Nicolas Peschanski
Senior Associate Editor – Cardiac Arrest
Prof. Nicolas PESCHANSKI has been an emergency physician for more than 20 years, consultant and chief-of-staff of the Emergency Department Critical Care Ward in the Emergency Department-SAMU35-SMUR of the University Hospital Center of Rennes and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine in the Rennes University School of Medicine. Doctor in Biological Sciences (Ph.D.), he is a member of the guidelines steering committee of the French Society of Emergency Medicine (SFMU) and a researcher in the field of cardiovascular diseases and therapeutics, especially in acute heart failure. He has a long-standing commitment to the teaching of acute cardiovascular and critical diseases and their management in the emergency setting. He is a member of educational, teaching, and research groups in the world of emergency and cardiology such as Emergency Medicine Cardiology Research and Education Group (EMCREG-International), the EUSEM (European Society for Emergency Medicine), the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA-ESC) and the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology (HFA-ESC), and the international section of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). Passionate about the use of new information technologies applied to education in emergency medicine, he's an actor of social networks and a promoter of education through new means of communication and the digital environment.
Steve Photiou, MD, MSc (DM), MHA

Dr. Photiou is an Emergency Physician with expertise in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Disaster Medicine. He serves as the Hospital Director and Chair of Emergency Planning & Disaster Management at the Hospital of Montebelluna, Veneto, Italy. Within the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM), Dr. Photiou holds the position of Chair for the Disaster Medicine Section. He is also a founding member of the Global Network on Emergency Medicine (GNEM) Foundation. Dr. Photiou serves as an advisor to the Resilience Advisors Network (RAN) in the UK/Ireland and is a member of the Scientific Committee for the Observatory on CBRNe Defense (OSDIFE) in Rome, Italy. He is a member of the Italian Civil Protection branch located in Montebelluna, Veneto, Italy.
Ayesha Almemari, MD, FRCPC, MBA

Dr. Ayesha is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with a double Canadian board certified in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. Dr. Ayesha trained at McGill University 2005-2011. She is currently working as a Consultant Physician of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care at Shaikh Shakhboot Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Ayesha has completed 3 master's degrees: a master's in quality & safety in Healthcare Management at RCSI, Dubai (2014), an International Master's in Donation and transplantation of Organs, Tissues, and Cells at the University of Barcelona, Spain (2017), and Executive MBA at Hult International Business School, Dubai (2019). She is the founder of Mafraq Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program (2014) and led it to ACGME accreditation and was the Program Director until October 2020. She has been a member of the Emergency Medicine Council at Arab Board since 2013 and was a member of the examination committee and developed the Oral examination assessment sheet that is still in use today with some modifications. In 2017 was elected as Secretary of the Arab Board EM Council executive committee and served until March 2023 and in that capacity worked with the chair of the executive committee to develop a fellowship in Pediatric emergency medicine and Toxicology. In 2020, she was appointed as the Chair of the Emergency Medicine Council at the Emirati Board and worked with the committee in developing EM training standards and function as a training Centre assessor. She is a researcher with over 10 publications and 8 projects in process. Her research interest mainly falls into: Medical Liability, Emergency Medicine Quality improvement, Physicians' burnout, and Medical Education in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care.
Chokri Hamouda, MD, Professor

Chokri Hamouda is Tunisian MD, Professor at Tunis El Manar University since 1999 (Author of many medical researches', h‐index = 6) and Head of the Health Care Evaluation and Accreditation Authority (INEAS) since 2020. He is a member of the technical advisory Group‐IC2 at WHO‐HQ and member of the executive board of the Arab Heath Specialties'. He was director of the Primary Health Care ‐ MOH (2019‐2020) and Dean of the Tunis Nursing School (2009‐2016). Dr Hamouda was awarded from Montreal University for ‹‹Innovation in Medical Education›› (2017). Furthermore, he has facilitated ‹‹e‐learning in global health›› with Washington University since 2012. As head department at the Organ Procurement Centre (CNPTO) (2007‐2009), Dr Hamouda was elected General Secretary of the Middle East Transplant Coordinator Organization (2007‐2009) and contributes to health care's skills development in this topic for EMRO countries. His contribution as physician, begin in 1991 at the Emergency and Critical Care Centre of Tunis (CAMU) (1991‐2006). Dr Hamouda was promoted as consultant and led an emergency team at two teaching hospitals: Rabta and Charles Nicole Emergency Departments, (2007‐2018). He finished his activities as a practitioner at Riyadh Hospitals in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2018‐2019) as emergency consultant.
Sabina Abou Malham, MD, PhD

Sabina Abou Malham is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke (Nursing School, Longueuil campus). She holds a Ph.D. in public health - health care services organization from the University of Montreal and a postdoctoral fellowship from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Charles-Le Moyne Research Center at the University of Sherbrooke. She has two additional diplomas in advanced research and interdisciplinary research in reproductive health. She is a regular researcher at the University Institute of Primary Health Care and Social Services (IUPLSSS). Her research focuses on the analysis of the implementation and evaluation of the effects of organizational innovations in primary care, specifically those aiming to change professional health roles in general, family physicians, midwives and nurses in particular. She also has expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions related to reproductive health care and maternal and child health in global health context. She is an expert member of the Interdisciplinary Center for International Development in Health (CIDIS) at the University of Sherbrooke, and a consultant in international research with several international organizations and academic institutions in the field of sexual and reproductive health care, maternal and child health, and refugees.

Samah Chiry, MD, MS
Associate Editor – General Emergency / Aesthetic
Dr. Samah Chiry is a Family Medicine Consultant with acute and urgent care interest who graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and holds a master's in biomedical sciences (clinical research) from University of Montreal. She is also a faculty lecturer in the Family Medicine Department at McGill University. She completed a certificate and training in Humanitarian Studies and Disaster Management from Harvard & McGill Universities. She was the reviewer in charge of the Mediterranean Journal of Emergency Care (MJEM), that is launched as a new journal "Panorama of Emergency Medicine" (POEM). Dr Chiry was a senior reviewer for the Global Emergency Medicine Literature Review (GEMLR) for one year (2013 to 2014).
Chady El Tawil, MD, mMBA

Chady El Tawil is an Emergency Physician at the "Centre Hospitalier Affilié Universitaire Régional (CHAUR)" in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada. He is also a subspecialist affiliate of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and practices as a Pediatric Emergency Physician and Trauma Team Leader at the Montreal Children's Hospital - McGill University Health Centre. He is a regular reviewer for multiple emergency and pediatrics journals. The majority of his publications and main interests are in trauma, pediatric emergency, prehospital care, and quality improvement.
Hilal W. Abdessamad, MD

Dr. Abdessamad earned his BS in Medical Lab from the University of Balamand, Lebanon in 2013, followed by an MD from the same institution in 2017. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at Lebanese American University (LAU). Dr. Abdessamad is an active member of APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology). Currently, he serves as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and he is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence through an online program at LAU.
Jan-Cedric Hansen, MD, MSc, PhD

Dr. Jan-Cedric Hansen is a highly accomplished and interdisciplinary expert in emergency medicine and disaster response, with extensive experience in both clinical and administrative roles. He is currently serving as the Medecin Coordonnateur & Administrateur at CHAG de Pacy/Eure, where he coordinates medical care and oversees hospital administration. Dr. Hansen is an active member of several prominent medical and disaster response organizations, including the Global Health Security Alliance, European Council on Disaster Medicine, and the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine. In his leadership roles, Dr. Hansen contributes significantly to the development and implementation of strategies for global health security and disaster medicine. He is dedicated to enhancing disaster outcomes through collaborative research and is involved in multiple commissions and councils aimed at improving emergency medical responses and risk management. His expertise is further recognized by his role as a Registered Cindynician Expert-Auditor for the European Commission's CBRN Risk Mitigation CoE Initiative. Dr. Hansen is a reviewer for several leading journals in the field of disaster and emergency medicine. Additionally, he is an esteemed educator, teaching courses on strategic steering of disaster and crisis management at several universities across France, Europe, Africa, and the USA. His contributions to the field are marked by his commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and international cooperation, ensuring comprehensive and effective responses to medical emergencies and disasters worldwide.
Professor Vijaya Arun Kumar, MD, MPH

Founder and Co-Director Global Health Research Collaborative; Associate Director, Global Health Section / IEMF; Director of Clinical Research, Harper University Hospital Dept. of Emergency Medicine, Wayne State University. Dr. Vijaya Arun Kumar is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University and Director of Research at the ED of Harper University Hospital. After completing his graduation in medicine and post-graduation in public health from India, Dr. Kumar went on to complete his residency and fellowship in Clinical Research in Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University (WSU), followed by an MPH from University of Michigan. His global health (GH) interests include development of clinical research globally, upliftment of women's health and improvement of emergency medicine in resource limited, low and middle-income countries. His research interest covers cardiovascular emergency medicine, Long COVID, research ethics and Quality and safety in the emergency department. Dr. Kumar is presently the associate director of the global health section in the department of EM at WSU and the founder and co-director of the GH research collaborative (GHRC) at WSU which has trained nearly 100 researchers from more than 20 countries over its last 4 years of existence and aims to create a network of well-trained researchers globally. He has been instrumental in collaborative research work and capacity development in several countries including Lebanon, China, West Indies, United Emirates and India. He is on the editor board for the Emergency and Critical Care Medicine journal, manuscript reviewer for Annals of Emergency Medicine and Journal of ACEP while being on the research committees at ACEP and SAEM and the global emergency medicine academy at SAEM. He has numerous publications and has secured several grants for both global health and clinical research. He has continued to work clinically as an EM physician since the completion of his residency and presently is a full-time EM physician for Michigan Center Emergency Services (DMC/WSU), he was recently awarded the prestigious Munuswamy Dayanandan Humanitarian award at WSU in 2024.

Jabeen Fayyaz, MD, FCPS, MCPS, DCH, CHSE, MHPE, PhD (Sim), MGH IHP

Dr. Fayyaz joined SickKids in 2016 as a PEM Fellow and is currently a Staff Physician and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Fayyaz graduated from Pakistan and worked as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) faculty at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) for 5 years. She was among the few leaders in Pakistan with the EM specialty recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 2011. Later, she worked at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) for 3 years and led the implementation of the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), followed by a quality improvement initiative utilizing the LEAN Sigma methodology. In 2016 she started her PEM fellowship at SickKids, followed by a one-year Simulation fellowship. In 2018, she completed her master's degree in health professional education from Aga Khan University Hospital, followed by a Ph.D. in simulation from the MGH IHP, an affiliate of Harvard, USA. She was appointed recently as Simkids Medical director. Dr. Fayyaz is the PEM international fellowship program director and resuscitation lead. Dr. Fayyaz is also the President-Elect of the International Pediatric Simulation Society (IPSS) - INSPIRE PED Simulation fellowship Chair and Board of INSPIRE and IPSS directors. Being passionate about utilizing distance simulation for community outreach and capacity building, in the last 3 years, she worked with Indus Hospital and the health network; she has implemented a simulation-based PEM curriculum for EM residents and a one-year PEM certification program with 27 physicians graduating in July 2023. A Simulation instructor course for faculty development was implemented, and more than 50 educators have been trained for simulation-based education in Pakistan. Her international work continued in India, Egypt, and Ireland. In addition, at SickKids, Dr. Fayyaz is the resuscitation lead for the competency-based medical education program (CBME) for Faculty, Faculty lead for the Hot wash debriefing program, Chair resuscitation oversight committee and ED lead for CPR coach role implementation. Dr. Fayyaz's interest is exploring simulation as system and process testing, quality improvement, and patient safety, and providing an enriching cultural environment in teaching and learning. Dr. Fayyaz has been an active member of the Simulation Steering Committee since 2019.

Jennifer Rizk, MD

Dr. Rizk is currently working as an emergency medicine specialist at Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal de Poissy Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the emergency department. She has a master's degree in toxicology from the university of Paris Cité and a newly acquired degree for a subspecialty in sports medicine from the Sorbonne University. Her interests range between: pre-hospital care, POCUS (point of care ultrasound), toxicology and sports medicine. She has several articles published in those different fields. She is also a regular reviewer in multiple emergency medicine related journals. She is a member of multiple societies including but not limited to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT), the French society of emergency medicine (SFMU) and the European Society of emergency medicine (EUSEM).
Omar Jamal, MD

Omar Jamal has completed his bachelor's in medicine and general surgery from Beirut Arab University in 2019. Then, he completed his internship in two major hospitals in Lebanon (Rafik hariri university hospital and Makassed General Hospital). After that, he finished his residency in internal medicine at the Lebanese American University in 2022. Currently, he is doing his senior year of fellowship in infectious diseases at the Lebanese American University. In addition to his clinical experience, Omar has teaching experience in two universities (Beirut Arab University and Lebanese American University). From a research standpoint, Omar has 4 publications. His research interests are antimicrobial resistance, virology, and HIV.
